Yes! No greenwashing here. Our founder has always been deeply committed to protecting the environment and human rights. At Gaia & Dubos, transparency is one of our core values.
Our founder and designer holds a master’s degree in sustainable fashion and is the author of the book "For a sustainable wardrobe", published by Éditions La Presse and sold in thousands of copies across Quebec.
She brings the knowledge and expertise needed to create genuinely eco-friendly clothing and accessories — all entirely made in Canada under ethical working conditions.
We work exclusively with sustainable fibres such as certified organic cotton, certified ethical and organic silk and wool, and natural linen.
Our collections also occasionally feature other eco-responsible fabrics like materials made from recycled plastic bottles, hemp, and lyocell or TENCEL™ — a fabric made from wood pulp sourced from renewable forests.
Yes. All of our clothing and accessories are made right here in Quebec, Canada under ethical working conditions. Our founder and designer personally visits each of the manufacturers and workshops we work with to ensure a safe, fair, and humane work environment.
As you might expect, producing locally in Canada costs about 10 times more than outsourcing to developing countries. It’s a tough choice — but it’s one we make wholeheartedly, in line with our values.
